Surprise, Surprise! Not Devendra Fadnavis, This Senior BJP Leader To Be Next Maharashtra Chief Minister

The suspense on the name of Maharashtra's next chief minister saw a new twist on Tuesday after speculations quoting Nitin Gadkari's name surfaced on the internet. Looking at the BJP's track record in picking Chief Ministers, then the people of Maharashtra may also see a surprise selection.

The reports said Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde is upset on leaving the Chief Minister's chair and not ready to work under Devendra Fadnavis' leadership. To manage the "rift in the alliance", BJP's top leadership is thinking on Nitin Gadkari's name as the senior leader is serving the state for a long time and deserves the top post.

Rumours also suggested that Devendra Fadnavis might replace JP Nadda as BJP's national president.

Meanwhile, preparations for the swearing-in ceremony for Maharashtra's next chief minister are underway. BJP has announced that their CM will take oath on December 5.

It was learned that the Chief Minister and 2 Deputy Chief Ministers will take oath of office. Later, Cabinet leaders will be elected by BJP, NCP (Ajit Pawar) and Shiv Sena leaders.

Sources reported that Eknath Shinde has also demanded key portfolios including Home Affairs and Finance Ministry in exchange of CM's chair.
