Suresh Raina, Priyanka Chaudhary to get married today; Villagers not invited
Meerut, April 3: As the star cricketer Suresh Raina is all set to enter the wedlock with his fiancee and childhood friend Priyanka Chaudhary in the national capital on Friday, April 3, some villagers are reportedly feeling upset as they have been snubbed by the bride's family.
As per a report published in TOI, the locals of Bamnoli village, from where Raina's would-be-wife hails, are feeling dejected as many close neighbours of the family have not been invited in the high-profile wedding. [Pics: Cricketer Suresh Raina's bachelor party, marriage in Delhi]

Sanjiv Tomar, a villager was quoted saying as, "The girl belongs to this village and it would have been nice if the marriage had taken place in Bamnoli and not a posh hotel in Delhi. Priyanka's father should have kept in mind our feelings. We would have loved to take part in the marriage ceremony and bless the couple." [Suresh Raina to get married today; but where is he?]
Another villager said, only four people from the village have been invited.

However, Hemant Chaudhary, a lawyer from the same village, is among the lucky ones, who have been invited to attend Raina and Priyanka's marriage. [PM Modi not to attend Raina's marriage]
He said, "The invite is meant for only one person, not the entire family. I will attend the wedding. It is an honour to attend the ceremony, in which the daughter of this village will tie the knot with the world-renowned cricketer."
During the World Cup semi-final match on Thursday, March 26, Priyanka's village panchayat had announced an undeclared holiday to cheer for their would-be-son-in-law. [Village of Suresh Raina's fiancee Priyanka takes holiday to cheer for him]

Head of the Panchayat Kalu Singh had said that the village is proud of Raina, who set to tie knot to Priyanka Chowdhury a resident of the village.
"It is the matter of pride that we are getting son-in-law like Raina. The decision to remain off from respective duties and watch the match, was taken unanimously. The entire village prayed at Hanuman temple for victory of the Indian team," he had said.
