''New India envisioned by PM deserves a Rlys which is efficient and modern. I promise that is the path, on which Rlys is progressing now,'' Prabhu said in a tweet.
''I met the Hon'ble Prime Minister @narendramodi taking full moral responsibility. Hon'ble PM has asked me to wait,'' the railway minister said.
Prabhu's statements comes on a day when the Kaifiyat Express got derailed in Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh leaving over 70 people injured.
Earlier in the day, Chairman of the Railway Board AK Mittal tendered his resignation to Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and sources say that the resignation has been accepted.
