Suresh Gopi Accuses Journalists of Obstruction; Congress Leader Retaliates

Union Minister Suresh Gopi has lodged a police complaint against journalists, alleging they obstructed his path while he was leaving the Thrissur Ramanilayam Government Guest House. Gopis Media Clash; Cong Leader Reacts

Meanwhile, Congress leader and former MLA Anil Akkara has also filed a police complaint against Gopi. Akkara's complaint, sent via email to the Thrissur city police commissioner, accuses Gopi of misconduct towards journalists the previous day and claims he violated his oath of office.

Allegations Against CPIM MLA M Mukesh

On Tuesday, when reporters questioned Gopi about sexual harassment allegations against CPIM MLA M Mukesh, he criticised the media. Gopi stated, "You media are not only making people fight each other for your own gains, you are also misleading public perception." He added that such complaints are mere allegations at this stage and emphasised that only the court can decide on these matters.

Later that day, when reporters sought his reaction to BJP state chief K Surendran's call for Mukesh's resignation, Gopi's response was more confrontational. TV channels aired visuals showing him angrily pushing away some reporters as they approached him while he was trying to get into his official vehicle.

Incident at Thrissur Ramanilayam Government Guest House

In the videos broadcasted by TV channels, Gopi is seen pushing away journalists who were trying to question him. He exclaimed, "What is this? My way is my right. Please," before getting into his car and leaving without addressing any further questions from the reporters.

The incident has sparked controversy with both sides filing complaints against each other. The situation remains tense as authorities review the complaints and consider potential actions.
