Supreme Court Lawyer Targeted by Unidentified Assailants in Gurugram

In a concerning incident reported from Gurugram, a Supreme Court lawyer became the target of an alleged assault by unidentified individuals. The episode unfolded in the early hours of April 18 in the Sector 29 vicinity, according to local police authorities. Rajiv Yadav, the lawyer in question, who also leads a non-governmental organization, narrated his harrowing experience which began near Hotel Crown Plaza.

Yadav recounted that his ordeal started when his vehicle was struck with a blunt object by an assailant. In an attempt to escape the imminent threat, he maneuvered his car towards HUDA Gymkhana, only to spot a gun-wielding individual pursuing him. The situation escalated as Yadav tried to evade his pursuer by taking a U-turn into the Signature Tower underpass, heading towards Sector 14. It was here that his car was hit by another speeding vehicle, not once but twice, in what appeared to be a deliberate act of aggression.

The lawyer expressed his fear for life and labeled the attack as premeditated. He has since called for the identification and prosecution of those responsible for this act of violence. In response to Yadav's complaint, the local police have lodged an FIR against unknown assailants under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including wrongful confinement, causing damage, rash driving, and acts endangering life or personal safety.

A senior police officer has assured that the investigation is underway, with efforts focused on verifying the facts of the case and scrutinizing CCTV footage from the area. The police have committed to taking appropriate legal action based on their findings. This incident has raised concerns about safety in Gurugram's Sector 29 area, prompting law enforcement to intensify their efforts in tracking down the culprits behind this alarming attack.
