Support Fight For The Dignity Of Women: Wrestlers Write To Sitharaman, Irani
Women wrestlers, protesting against Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, wrote an open letter to Union ministers Smriti Irani and Nirmala Sitharaman seeking justice.

"We, the women wrestlers of India, have been sexually assaulted by the president of the Wrestlers' Federation of India. During his long period of presidency of the federation, wrestlers have been sexually assaulted many times by him. Sometimes, wrestlers tried to raise their voices but his power ruined the wrestlers' future, forget about justice. Now as the water is above the nose, we don't have any way left other than to fight for the dignity of the women wrestlers," the letter read.
"We have left our lives and sports aside and decided to fight for our dignity. We have been fighting for justice for the last 20 days at Jantar Mantar. As per our observations, his power has not only broken the backbone of the administration but also made our government deaf and blind," the letter added.
"Being women Members of Parliament of the ruling party, we have a lot of hope from you and request you to help us. Please become our voice and save our dignity. We also hope that you can spare some time to reach Jantar Mantar to guide us," it further said.
The country's top wrestlers, including Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat, have been protesting at the Jantar Mantar for the last 22 days demanding the arrest of Brij Bhushan for alleged sexual harassment of women wrestlers.
Asian Games gold medallist Vinesh Phogat rued that not a single ruling party's woman parliamentarian had met the wrestlers to extend support in our fight for the dignity of women.
