Sunita Kejriwal Accuses BJP of Endangering Husband's Life, Cites Political Hatred
Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, criticised the BJP, accusing them of spreading hatred and hindering the work of Delhi residents. She also expressed concerns about her husband's safety in Tihar jail. Addressing a rally at Jantar Mantar, Sunita claimed that her husband was framed in the excise policy case based on a single statement.

Sunita Kejriwal alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) jailed Arvind Kejriwal just before the Lok Sabha elections in March. She stated that this action was taken without any proof, relying solely on a statement from NDA member of Parliament Magunta Reddy. According to Sunita, Reddy had only met Arvind Kejriwal once to discuss opening a charitable trust in Delhi.
Allegations of Political Conspiracy
Sunita Kejriwal claimed that the ED manipulated this meeting to frame her husband. She said that the ED imprisoned Reddy's son, Raghav, for five months, during which his mother fell ill and his wife attempted suicide. The ED then allegedly pressured Reddy to accuse Arvind Kejriwal of demanding Rs 100 crore.
She questioned the ED's motives, suggesting that they acted under pressure as part of a conspiracy. "Why would ED do this? ED did this because it was done as part of a conspiracy, under pressure," she said. The trial court granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal, stating he was arrested without evidence, but the central government took immediate actions to keep him in jail.
Health Concerns Ignored
Sunita highlighted her husband's health issues, mentioning his 22-year struggle with diabetes and reliance on insulin. She revealed that he was initially denied insulin in jail and had to go to court to obtain it. She accused authorities of ignoring his illness as part of a conspiracy.
She explained that Arvind has a sensor on his arm to monitor his sugar levels continuously. If his sugar level drops below 70 mg/dL, he experiences symptoms like shivering and sweating. At home, they manage these episodes by giving him something sweet immediately.
Recently, Sunita discovered that Arvind's sugar levels have dropped below 50 mg/dL five times while he was sleeping in jail. "Thank God that nothing untoward happened," she said. She believes her husband's life is in great danger due to negligence and deliberate actions by authorities.
Accusations Against BJP
Sunita accused the BJP-led central government of trying to defame an elected chief minister by filing false cases and jeopardising his health. She claimed their motive is to halt Delhi's progress because Arvind Kejriwal fights tirelessly for the people of Delhi.
"The people of Delhi have given seven MPs to BJP. You ask them what work these BJP MPs have done for Delhi," she said. According to Sunita, BJP's politics revolves around hatred and obstructing progress, but Arvind Kejriwal remains undeterred and committed to serving Delhi's residents.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann also spoke at the rally, emphasising the INDIA bloc's mission to protect democracy and the Constitution. He criticised BJP's arrogance and accused them of stealing political parties' symbols and assets.
Mann alleged that BJP stole Shiv Sena's bow and arrow symbol, Sharad Pawar's watch, and Chautala's two slippers. He claimed that BJP members loot the country while their opponents strive to save it.
The rally concluded with Sunita urging people to support her husband, highlighting his dedication over 30 years of service. She expressed hope that the public would stand by him in these challenging times.
