Gang Member Arrested for Allegedly Robbing Delhi Cop's Car: Gurugram Crime News
A 24-year-old man affiliated with the notorious Sunder Bhati gang has been apprehended by police after allegedly stealing a car from a Delhi Police constable. The suspect, identified as Mahesh alias Mundi, reportedly committed the crime to aid in an act of revenge related to his brother's murder.
On Monday, officials reported the arrest of a 24-year-old man linked to the Sunder Bhati gang. The individual, identified as Mahesh alias Mundi, is accused of robbing a Delhi Police constable's car at gunpoint. Mahesh was apprehended by the crime unit in Palam Vihar on Sunday night from Kasola Chowk and the stolen vehicle was seized during his arrest. However, his accomplice remains at large.
The Incident

According to reports, two unidentified armed men robbed a Delhi Police constable of his car on SPR Road while he was en route for G-20 security duty on September 9th. The victimized constable reported that these individuals threatened him with firearms before making off with his vehicle.
The Motive
Upon interrogation, Mahesh disclosed that he and his associate had planned to use the stolen car in an act of revenge killing related to an old familial feud dating back to 2014. He revealed that two individuals from his village in Shahbajpur were responsible for murdering his brother eight years ago.
A Link To Bhati Gang
In addition to this shocking revelation, police also uncovered another link between Mahesh and notorious criminal elements in the region. Manoj Bhati, a member of the infamous Bhati gang known for its various criminal activities across Gurugram and surrounding areas, was arrested from Mahesh's residence earlier this year. It appears that during this arrest operation conducted in 2022, officers inadvertently left behind one weapon which Mahesh intended to use for carrying out his vengeance plot.
Past Criminal Record
"The arrested accused has a previous criminal record," informed an official spokesperson from local law enforcement agencies. "Total six cases were already registered against him, including two..." The spokesperson did not elaborate on the nature of these charges but confirmed that Mahesh alias Mundi had a significant history with the criminal justice system. His past offenses and his association with notorious criminals like Bhati have raised serious concerns about the effectiveness of local law enforcement efforts to curb gang-related activities in the region.
In conclusion, this incident highlights the persistent challenges faced by Indian law enforcement agencies in dealing with organized crime. The arrest of Mahesh serves as a stark reminder of how deeply rooted these criminal networks are within our communities. It also underscores the urgent need for more proactive measures and comprehensive strategies to dismantle such dangerous alliances and ensure public safety. As we await further developments in this case, it is crucial to remember that every successful arrest brings us one step closer to restoring law and order in our society.
