Sunanda Pushkar wanted to tell the truth: Subramanian Swamy

New Delhi, Jan 6: As the shocking details in the sensational case of the mysterious death of Sunanda Pushkar were revealed by the Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Tuesday, Jan 6, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy claimed that she wanted to tell the truth.

While talking to the media persons, Swamy said, "Only crime Sunanda committed was that she wanted to tell the truth, even the hotel has to be investigated." [Sunanda Pushkar was murdered: Delhi Police Commissioner]

"I want to establish a principle, no matter who it is. There is a right to life. No one can deprive it", he added.

While appreciating Delhi Police's move to register an FIR, Swamy said, "I am happy that police has finally developed nerve to register the FIR, this was a murder of involving money."

"Shashi Tharoor is a liar, the more he opens his mouth the more trouble he is going to get into" he said.

Sunanda's cousin Ashok Kumar said, "We always knew that this was a case of murder, this decision was delayed."

Meanwhile Congress leaders also expressed their reactions to the media.

Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi said, "So many questions arise as to why Police registered an FIR now."

Another Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, "Let us maintain a sense of balance, this is a complaint/FIR against persons unknown,not yet clear whether its suicide or murder."

"Statement of the Police Commissioner is clear, he said it is not clear whether poison has been taken by herself or was administered to her", he further said.

Senior journalist Nalini Singh said, "Shocking that one year of this huge speculation and now Delhi Police has come to this conclusion."

"Now we will know how Sunanda died, it won't remain a mystery ,her death has not died a death", she said.

In a sensational twist to the mysterious death of Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda Pushkar, Delhi Police today registered a case of murder after a medical report said her death was unnatural and was caused due to poisoning but nobody has been named as a suspect as yet.

Sunanda was found dead in a luxury hotel Jan 17, 2014, a day after she and Tharoor checked in because their house was allegedly getting painted. Both had been married twice earlier.
