Sunanda Pushkar laid to rest at Lodhi crematorium

's body has been cremated at Lodhi crematorium in Delhi. The mortuary van carrying the body reached the venue at around 4:30pm. Sunanda's family and close friends attended the ceremony. Shashi Tharoor, along with three others, carried the body to the funeral venue. Sunanda's 21-year-old son Shiv Menon was also present.

Delhi Police had massively beefed up security ahead of Sunanda's cremation at the Lodhi Road crematorium. Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit visited Shashi Tharoor's residence on Saturday.

Sunanda's postmortem was done today at AIIMS and the doctors concluded that it was a case of unnatural death. The body had injury marks, the report said. However, the doctors refused to comment on whether the injury marks caused the death.

Sunanda Pushkar was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her room at The Leela Palace hotel in south Delhi Friday. Her death came barely 24 hours after she and Shashi Tharoor declared they were "happily married" following public airing of tweets that hinted at an extra-marital relationship and alleged involvement of a Pakistani woman.
