Sun TV COO arrested on sexual harassment charges in Chennai
Chennai, Dec 26: A top executive of Sun TV has been arrested by the police in Chennai over a sexual harassment allegation by a former woman employee. Praveen, the Chief Operating Officer of Sun TV, was arrested after a former woman employee lodged a complaint against him.
According
to
reports,
the
woman
who
has
complained
against
the
COO
resigned
few
months
ago
after
she
was
transferred
to
Kerala.
As
per
a
TOI
report,
"Surya
TV
program
head
Deepti
is
reported
to
have
leveled
sexual
harassment
charges
on
Praveen
following
with
the
arrest
has
happened."
In March 2013, a news anchor had filed a sexual harassment complaint against V Raja, the former Chief editor of Sun TV News channel.
Sun TV, a Tamil satellite television station is the flagship channel of the Chennai-based Sun TV Network. It was founded and is owned by Kalanithi Maran, the brother of former telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran.
Both the brothers are also being investigated for alleged money laundering in the 2G spectrum case.
A special court in October had summoned Dayanidhi Maran, his brother Kalanithi Maran and others as accused in connection with 2006 Aircel-Maxis deal case which is a part of the part of the 2G spectrum allocation scam case and had asked them to appear before it on March 2, 2015.
