Madhya Pradesh to Launch AI-Powered ‘SUMAN SAKHI’ Chatbot for Women’s Health Services

The Government of Madhya Pradesh introduces Suman Sakhi, an AI chatbot aimed at providing expectant mothers with essential health information and access to government schemes, enhancing maternal healthcare across the state.

In a significant stride toward digital healthcare and citizen-centric governance, the Government of Madhya Pradesh is set to launch SUMAN SAKHI, an AI-powered chatbot designed to provide women—especially expectant mothers—with easy access to vital health information and government schemes.

Developed by the National Health Mission (NHM), Madhya Pradesh, in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSeDC) under the Department of Science and Technology, the chatbot aims to bridge the information gap in maternal healthcare through a user-friendly digital interface.

SUMAN SAKHI will serve as a virtual assistant, available 24x7 in Hindi, ensuring accessibility for both rural and urban populations. Through WhatsApp, users can interact with the chatbot to: get guidance on pregnancy care and high-risk factors, learn about government health schemes and social welfare programs, and receive timely and reliable health-related information.

The chatbot will be launched in phases, beginning with sectors that experience the highest public demand—primarily maternal health. Gradually, it will expand to include other flagship welfare schemes, making it a comprehensive digital health companion for citizens across the state.
