Sukhbir Singh Badal Hugs Police Officials for Their Bravery in Saving His Life

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal expressed gratitude towards two police officials who saved him from an attack. On Thursday, he embraced assistant sub-inspectors Jasbir Singh and Hira Singh, who are part of his security team, for their bravery. A former terrorist attempted to shoot Badal, but the policemen swiftly subdued the attacker, preventing any harm.

Badal shared images of the officers on X, acknowledging their courage. "Risking your life to save someone's life is not an easy thing. ASI Jasbir Singh and ASI Hira Singh, both have been a part of our family from the time of Parkash Singh Ji Badal. My family and I cannot repay the courage and loyalty shown by them yesterday. May God bless them with long life, good health and all happiness," he stated.

Attack at Golden Temple

The incident occurred on Wednesday at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Former Khalistani terrorist Narain Singh Chaura fired at Badal from close range. Fortunately, the shot missed as plainclothes officers quickly intervened. The ex-deputy chief minister was unharmed due to their prompt action.

ASI Jasbir Singh noticed the threat and acted immediately. He tackled the shooter by grabbing his hands and pushing him away. This allowed other security personnel to overpower the attacker successfully.

The dramatic event was recorded by journalists present at the scene. They were covering Badal's second day of performing sewadar duties at the main gate of the Sikh shrine as a form of religious penance. The footage highlighted the swift response of the security team in neutralising the threat.
