Study Vedas to Understand Self and Aid Nation Building, Says RSS' Arun Kumar

New Delhi, Mar 21 - At an event in New Delhi, Arun Kumar, a senior RSS functionary, emphasized the profound wisdom contained within the Vedas, urging the populace to delve into these ancient scriptures for guidance on self-identity and nation-building. The occasion marked the commencement of year-long celebrations in honor of the 200th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of Arya Samaj and a venerated social reformer.

Kumar, who serves as the RSS joint general secretary and is notably the Sangh's liaison with the BJP, voiced concerns regarding societal issues such as luxury overindulgence, rising tensions, and the younger generation's susceptibility to various addictions. He advocated for self-reflection and a return to a disciplined way of living as espoused in Vedic teachings.

The RSS leader highlighted the importance of an "ideological" discourse on India's identity and narrative, stressing the need to engage with original Indian texts and languages. He pointed out that despite an increase in material resources, true happiness remains elusive for many.

According to Kumar, the solutions to contemporary societal challenges lie in adhering to a life of 'brahmacharya' and discipline, principles reiterated by Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati. He encouraged individuals to contribute to national unity and societal welfare by aligning their lives with these values.

By advocating for a return to Vedic principles and the teachings of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati, Kumar calls for a collective effort towards 'yug parivartan' or era transformation, aiming at resolving pressing societal issues through disciplined living and self-awareness.
