Strict action against violators of law: DK Minister Ramanath Rai

Chairing a peace committee meeting at the office of the Deputy Commissioner here yesterday to discuss maintenance of law and order during the festival season, Rai said persons who take law into their hands should be detained at any cost, an official release here said.
Anyone who hindered the police officials from doing their duty impartially by picketing police stations and protesting, should be arrested without paying heed to pressure.
People who provoked communal riots and disharmony should be brought to book immediately. Commissioner of Police R Hithendra said all possible measures to maintain peace would be taken and sought the co-operation of the public in this regard.
DK Zilla Panchayat CEO Thulasi Maddineni, Superintendent of Police D Sharanappa, Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, MLC Ivan D'Souza and leaders from education, social and religious sectors attended the meeting.
