Stones pelted at SP-Congress supporters at Varanasi

Chaos broke out in Varanasi even as Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi's joint roadshow was underway as miscreants pelted stones at supporters who had gathered in huge numbers. While the stone pelting led to ruckus the road show had already moved forward and none of the leaders was present at the spot. The situation was brought under control by security personnel deployed at the spot after which the crowds were asked to disperse.

In their first joint road show, Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav were joined by Dimple Yadav who has been a prominent face of Samajwadi party's campaign for the assembly polls. Varanasi was on an overdrive of political activity on Saturday with all political parties holding roadshows or rallies taking turns to attack each other on issues of development and women safety.
