Jobs, who was living on a farm in the mountains between Los Gatos and Santa Cruz at the time, expressed his wish to attend the Kumbh Mela, which was scheduled to begin in April 1974. He spoke of his uncertain plans and invited his friend to join him if he was still in the area when Tim arrived, as reported by Hindustan Times.
