Stay Secure At Maha Kumbh 2025: PhonePe Rolls Out Special Insurance Plan - Check Deets

PhonePe has introduced a special insurance plan for those attending the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The plan is designed to protect travellers from potential risks during their pilgrimage.

The insurance plan, created with ICICI Lombard, covers devotees travelling by train, bus, or domestic flights to Prayagraj. Available in two options, it aims to provide security during the pilgrimage. Coverage is available from January 13 to February 25, 2025.

Insurance Plan Details

For those traveling by train or bus, the insurance costs Rs 59. Meanwhile, domestic flight passengers can opt for a variant priced at Rs 99. PhonePe and ICICI have ensured that this plan offers extensive protection against health emergencies and travel disruptions.

"This comprehensive yet affordable insurance plan is available in two variants, catering to the needs of a broad spectrum of travellers: Rs 59 per traveller for individuals travelling by train or bus, and Rs 99 per traveller for individuals travelling by domestic flights," PhonePe said in its press release.

The insurance provides coverage for hospitalization up to Rs 50,000 and outpatient treatments up to Rs 1,500. Personal accident coverage extends up to Rs 1 lakh. Additionally, trip cancellations are covered up to Rs 5,000 and repatriation of remains up to Rs 10,000.

Comprehensive Protection

Air travellers benefit from coverage for lost checked-in baggage and missed connecting flights, each extending up to Rs 5,000. This specific coverage applies only to domestic flight policyholders. The total insured sum is Rs 1 lakh with specific amounts allocated for different risks.

Beneficiaries also receive protection for doctor consultations and personal accidents. This initiative ensures a secure pilgrimage experience for millions of devotees attending the event.

How to Purchase "Maha Kumbh" Insurance on PhonePe

Step 1: Launch the PhonePe app, navigate to the Insurance section, and select the "Maha Kumbh" Insurance option.

Step 2: Review the product details and tap on "Buy Now" to proceed.

Step 3: Choose a plan based on your travel mode, then enter the necessary details.

Step 4: Verify the provided information and finalize the purchase by completing the payment.
