Celebrations begin: Star Cricketer Suresh Raina to get engaged with fiancee Priyanka Chaudhary today

Ghaziabad, April 1: Team India's star Cricketer Suresh Raina is all set to get engaged with his Meerut-based fiancee and childhood friend Priyanka Chaudhary on April 1, Wednesday.

Only relatives and close friends will be a part of the private family affair. Media won't be the part of the star's engagement ceremony.

Cricketer Virat Kohli and his Bollywood actress- girlfriend Anushka Sharma are expected to attend Raina's engagement ceremony.

On Friday, April 3, Raina will tie the knot with Priyanka at five-star Hotel Leela Palace in New Delhi.

PM Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav have been invited to attend Raina's marriage.

The 'roka' ceremony was held on Thursday, March 12 at Godwin hotel in Meerut.

Priyanka and Raina's friendship dates back to the time when their fathers were colleagues at the Muradnagar ordnance factory. Since then, both the families have maintained cordial relations.

Priyanka, who reportedly earlier worked in Bengaluru for a short duration, presently works with a bank in The Netherlands. Some reports said that Priyanka will leave her job in The Netherlands and will stay in India, post marriage.

Priyanka is the youngest among three siblings and belongs to an educated and respected family. Her family originally hails from Baraut in UP but currently residing in Meerut.

Priyanka pursued her B.Tech from Krishna Institute of Engineering and Technology (KIET), Ghaziabad. Both of her brothers, Abhishek Choudhary and Vivek Choudhary, are working as Software engineers in Chennai and Noida respectively.
