Patna, Oct 23: Having enjoyed a 36-hour Durga Puja break, star campaigners of the ongoing five-phase Bihar assembly elections once again returned to the action, resuming their campaigning on Friday by addressing rallies.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah and his senior party leaders like Sushil Kumar Modi left Patna to address rallies on Friday after the much-needed break that Durga Puja provided on Thursday. "Nitish Kumar is addressing half a dozen rallies and Lalu Prasad is also addressing seven rallies separately," a leader of the grand alliance of the Janata Dal-United, Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress said.

Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah is addressing three rallies and Sushil Modi, a former deputy chief minister and the main contender for the chief minister's post if the BJP-led alliance wins the state elections, is addressing at least four rallies.

Most of the star campaigners spent Dussehra and Durga Puja navami day at their residences after a nearly month of non-stop election rallies.

Nitish Kumar is the chief ministerial candidate of the grand alliance.

Voting for the third phase of Bihar polls is scheduled for October 28.
