Srinagar: Irom Sharmila calls on Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar, June 4: Manipur's Iron Lady and iconic human rights activist Irom Sharmila on Monday called on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in Srinagar.

"The rights activist briefed the chief minister about the activities (she participated in) during her stay here. She (Sharmila) also briefed her (Mufti) about many initiatives she is associated with and that are aimed at empowerment of local women," an official spokesperson said after the meeting.

Mufti appreciated Sharmila's determination and wished her well, the spokesperson added.
