Sr pilot employed in Air India for three years suspended for fake certificates

New Delhi, June 18: Air India authorities have woken up to the background check of one of their very senior pilots when the latter's sister informed then that he did not even pass his higher education. More than 3 years after he was recruited with India's ace airlines, it was discovered that captain AB Khadtale had faked his Class 12 certificate.

Ironically, the complaint against the commander was lying with the aviation safety regulator since 2013. An AI spokesperson said,"The pilot had been suspended and we have informed the directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA) about the matter. He will face appropriate disciplinary action."

The airlines jumped into action when the captain's sister brought this to the aviation department's notice for the second time, forcing the DGCA to send the captain's certificate for verification.

According to Dr Kanagali, her youngest brother had passed his SSC exam from an Andheri school, but failed in his Class 11 exams. Following this, he appeared for HSC exams privately, which he could not clear again.
