Expect the font, date, name of the party and leader there is absolutely no difference between the two letters. The Congress has copied every line from M K Stalin's letter to the Governor seeking his directions to Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy to prove his majority in the assembly.

The Congress' 'copy and paste' letter is dated August 23, 2017. Each word, sentence and punctuation are the same as DMK's letter dated August 22, 2017. Even the references made in both letters are to the same instance in neighbouring Karnataka. The number of MLAs said to have withdrawn support to Edappadi Palanisamy, 22, is also the same in both letters. The Congress' letter has been sent by K R Ramasamy, the legislative party leader of the Congress in Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi President Thol Thirumavalavan have also urged Edappadi Palanisamy to undergo a floor test and prove majority.
