The city of Panipat in Haryana has been rocked by a horrific crime involving the gangrape of three women and the murder of another, allegedly committed by the same gang. In response to this heinous act, a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) was established on Friday, September 22. A senior police official from Panipat confirmed that an SIT headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishan Kumar had been set up specifically for these cases. This investigative body comprises three members whose task is not only to unravel the circumstances surrounding these crimes but also ensure that such incidents do not recur in future. To expedite proceedings and enhance their effectiveness, fifteen police teams consisting nearly 150 personnel have also been constituted.

High-Level Visitations and Investigations

In addition to setting up investigation teams, high-ranking officials including Inspector General of Police Karnal Range Satender Kumar Gupta and Deputy Inspector General Naazneen Bhasin visited Panipat on Friday.
