Special havan to pray for safe return of Kulbhushan Jadhav to India

On Wednesday, well-wishers of Kulbhushan Jadhav, facing death sentence in Pakistan, hosted a havan in UP for his safety.

Lucknow, April 13: Entire India is with Kulbhushan Jadhav. From politicians to commoners every Indian is demanding Pakistan to allow Jadhav to come back to his native country.

Jadhav, 46, a resident of Mumbai, has been recently awarded death sentence by a Pakistani military court on charges of espionage. The Indian government has vehemently denied the charges labelled against the former officer of the Indian Navy.

On Wednesday, a group of people in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, performed a havan praying for safety of Jadhav, reported ANI. "Uttar Pradesh: People in Moradabad performed 'Havan' for Kulbhushan Jadhav yesterday (Wednesday), given death sentence by Pakistan military court," tweeted ANI.

While Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that all measures would be taken to ensure Jadhav's release, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called the former naval officer the 'son of the soil'.

In the last few days, we have seen several protests in various parts of the country demanding release of Jadhav from the Pakistani jail. Jadhav's friends in Mumbai have started a campaign urging the politicians to save Jadhav getting killed in the neighbouring country. The Indian government has called the death sentence to Jadhav as a 'premeditated murder'.
