"Sovereign Decision": MEA Responds To UK Writer Nitasha Kaul's "Denied Entry In India" Allegation

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday reacted to UK writer Nitasha Kaul's allegations that she was denied entry to India for speaking on democratic & constitutional values. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said giving entry to a foreign national into the country is a sovereign decision.

Earlier, a Kashmiri-origin writer posted on Twitter stating: " I was invited to a conference as an esteemed delegate by Govt of Karnataka (Congress-ruled state) but Centre refused me entry. All my documents were valid & current (UK passport & OCI)."

Nitasha had claimed that she was invited by the Karnataka Government but she was sent back from the Airport after BJP-RSS conspired against her just because she has been writing against the saffron wing.

On the other side, a few BJP leaders called Nitasha Kaul a 'known terrorist sympathiser' who aims to spread anti-India propaganda.

Karnataka VHP leader Girish Bharadwaj had also slammed Karnataka's Siddarmaiah government for inviting Nitasha Kaul. He has also written and requested home minister Amit Shah to take cognizance and terminate Nitasha Kaul's OCI card.

"At the expense of Karnataka tax payers', Congress govt is channeling funds to Terrorist-Sympathisers, Urban Naxals, Anti-Nationals, Riots-accused to destabilise India ahead of elections," wrote BJP Karnataka on X.
