South Delhi Murder: What Led The Man To Brutally Kill His Cousin in Malviya Nagar?

"We received information that the body of a 25-year-old girl was found near Aurbindo College in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar. An iron rod was found near her body. According to a preliminary investigation, the girl was attacked with a rod. Further investigation is in progress," DCP South Chandan Chowdhary.

So, what led Irfan to kill Nargis?

The preliminary investigation revealed that he was in love with her, but her family was unwilling to give their daughter to Irfan as he was jobless.

Chandan Chowdhary, DCP, South Delhi, says, "The entire issue basically has a love angle & denial for marriage. The victim (22 years old) & the accused (28 years old) are cousins. The deceased's family had refused the boy for marriage since he was unemployed...Subsequently, the girl stopped talking to him...The boy was mentally disturbed...and therefore committed this crime today...He worked as a delivery boy and knew where the girl was taking coaching from. The accused has been identified as Irfan..."

The cops have already arrested the man and the investigation is on.

Meanwhile, the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, took note of the incident and tweeted, "In a posh locality like Malviya Nagar, a girl was beaten to death with a rod. Delhi is extremely unsafe. It doesn't matter to anyone. Only in newspaper reports, the names of girls are changed, and the crimes do not stop."
