Sonia Gandhi greets people on Guru Nanak Jayanti
New Delhi, Nov 25: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday extended her greetings to people on the occassion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak Dev.
"Sonia Gandhi has expressed hope that Guru Nanak Dev ji's message of compassion and humanity will continue to guide our lives and this holy occasion of Guru Purab on Kartik Purnima will continue to foster tolerance and coexistence forever," read a statement from the Congress office.
India celebrates Guru Nanak Jayanti or Gurpurab on Wednesday, the festival of Sikhs worldwide.
