Sonia Gandhi abroad for treatment, will miss election results
Though Sonia began the campaign in UP with a grand road show, she had to call the show off halfway due to illness.
Sonia Gandhi will not be in India for the election results as she is away for medical treatment. The Congress party chief is abroad for medical treatment. The election results for the five states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur will be announced on March 11, Saturday.

Sonia Gandhi had not campaigned much for the elections. She began the campaign in UP with a grand road show. However, she had to call the show off halfway due to illness.
She had complained of dehydration and was later shifted to a hospital in Delhi.
The Congress which entered into an alliance with the Samajwadi Party in UP is hoping to gain ground. The polls will be crucial for the Congress as it has been steadily losing ground across the country.
