Soni Sori determined to bring a change
Bastar, Mar 17: Adivasi school teacher and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Bastar, Soni Sori says that she fears for her life.

In an interview with The Hindu (read here) she said that 'she feared the more she spoke the truth, the more she subjected herself to danger.' Starting her campaign a day after Holi, Sori said that she chose AAP because she wanted to reach out to the people.

"I felt that if I have to change things in Bastar, politics is the only way. I have fought a long battle. No one from any political party came to support me. It was the AAP which approached me." she said.

Speaking about her plans for the elections she said that she wanted to bring a change starting with Bastar. "My first priority will be to replace guns with education. Children should not be carrying guns they should be carrying pens," Sori said.

Sori said that she was determined andthat she would not be deterred. "Bastar has seen enough of violence. Let's all work together to put an end to this bloodshed," she said.
