Soldier martyred in Kupwara operation
Srinagar, May 11: A soldier was killed on Wednesday during an ongoing security operation against militants in north Kashmir's Kupwara district.
A senior police official told IANS, "Lance naik Om Vir Singh of 21 Rashtriya Rifles was killed in Rajwar forest area in the ongoing operation."
A gunfight had started in the densely forested area late Tuesday night.
Reports from the area said firing had stopped, although search operation continued.
