Soham Parekh Resume Goes Viral: Indian Techie Hired Again by AI Startup Amid Moonlighting Allegations
Amid widespread online backlash against Soham Parekh, the Indian software developer accused of secretly working for multiple U.S. startups simultaneously, an AI startup founder has surprised many by offering him a second chance.
Conor Burke, founder of AI firm HyperSpell, shared on social media that he had emailed Parekh with a job offer. Despite industry outrage, Burke sees potential. "He's definitely learned his lesson now and is going to work insanely hard to prove everyone wrong," Burke wrote. "Massive opportunity to bring on top talent with a chip on their shoulder.

The email Burke sent read,"Hi Soham, saw that you've worked with quite a few successful startups and heard you might be on the market. We're hiring engineers right now. Let me know if you're open to a casual chat next week."
Burke captioned the post with the phrase: "Be greedy when others are fearful," quoting legendary investor Warren Buffett.
While some praised the gesture, others warned against hiring "low-integrity" employees. To that, Burke replied, "Everybody deserves a second chance. Let's be part of his redemption arc."
Who is Soham Parekh?
Soham Parekh is an Indian software engineer who came under fire after Suhail Doshi, co-founder of Mixpanel and Playground AI, accused him of moonlighting for several U.S. tech startups at once. Doshi issued a public PSA on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "There's a guy named Soham Parekh (in India) who works at 3-4 startups at the same time. He's been preying on YC companies. Beware."
Following this, more than six startup founders came forward, confirming they had unknowingly hired Parekh. He was reportedly let go once it became clear he was juggling multiple roles.
What's on Soham Parekh's Resume?
According to a resume shared by Doshi, Parekh holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech and a Bachelor's in Engineering from Mumbai University. His experience includes roles at high-profile companies such as Synthesia, Alan AI, Union.ai, and DynamoAI. He's worked on advanced technologies like machine learning model deployment, cloud infrastructure, video editing tools, and AI agents.
