Social Justice Ministry Hosts Special Guests to Promote Inclusive Development at Republic Day 2026

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment welcomed 244 beneficiaries at the Republic Day Ceremony, showcasing its dedication to inclusive development and social justice. Union Minister Virendra Kumar highlighted the importance of marginalised communities in national celebrations.

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment organised an interaction event on Sunday for beneficiaries invited as special guests to the Republic Day Ceremony in 2026. Held at the Dr Ambedkar National Memorial in Delhi, the gathering included participants from 17 states and Union territories. A total of 244 beneficiaries attended, with 151 under the SEED scheme for DNT Communities, 42 under SMILE Transgender, and 51 under SMILE Beggary.

The event was chaired by Union Minister Virendra Kumar, who engaged with attendees to hear their experiences and success stories. The minister reiterated the government's dedication to inclusive development and social justice. He highlighted that the presence of beneficiaries from marginalised communities at national celebrations aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas."

Empowerment Through Government Schemes

Beneficiaries shared how government schemes have significantly impacted their lives by fostering dignity, social inclusion, self-reliance, and sustainable livelihoods. The programme celebrated these achievements and aimed to inspire further socio-economic progress among participants. The event also provided a platform for beneficiaries to express how these initiatives have brought transformative changes.

During the programme, Minister Kumar distributed support kits and interacted individually with several beneficiaries. He encouraged them to continue their journey towards empowerment and economic independence. This interaction served as a motivational boost for attendees, reinforcing their commitment to achieving long-term socio-economic goals.

Recognition of Inspiring Journeys

The special guests were invited in recognition of their inspiring journeys and progress achieved through the welfare schemes of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. The event underscored the government's efforts in promoting social justice and empowerment among marginalised communities.

Sudhansh Pant, Secretary of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, along with senior officials, also attended the event. Their presence highlighted the ministry's commitment to supporting these initiatives and ensuring their success in empowering disadvantaged groups across India.

The programme not only celebrated individual achievements but also aimed to motivate beneficiaries toward continued progress.
