Smriti Irani blames Gandhi family during her campaign

today blamed the "Gandhi family" for politicising emotional issues and overlooking development in the constituency.

Addressing a series of "nukkud sabhas" and road show in Jais, Bahadurpur, Mohanganj area under Tiloi Vidhan Sabha segment of the constituency, Irani said 'Gandhi pariwar' has done politics on emotional issues and gave no importance to development.

"Almost 40 per cent people are living below the poverty line for which Rahul Gandhi and Congress are responsible. Everybody is facing problems because of inflation and corruption. Farmers are harried," she said.

She also said the BJP, if voted to power would do what Congress and Rahul Gandhi failed to do in last 60 years in the country. The BJP candidate also alleged that large tracks of land were taken from farmers in Amethi for setting up industries, but people here did not get jobs which were offered.
