Delhi Police Reunites Missing Six-Year-Old with Mother Near Metro Station
Delhi Police have successfully reunited a six-year-old girl with her mother after she got lost near a metro station, officials reported on Monday. The Janakpuri Metro Police staff located the missing child within two hours, according to police.

On Raksha Bandhan, Priyanka and her two children were heading to her brother's house in Vikas Puri around 11:30 am. They stopped at Nawada to buy sweets. After purchasing sweets, they waited under the Nawada Metro Station for a DTC bus to Vikaspuri, stated Deputy Commissioner of Police Metro G Ram Gopal Naik.
Search Efforts and Investigation
While waiting, Priyanka's six-year-old daughter, who was playing nearby, entered the metro station lift and did not return. A PCR call was received, and a team was promptly formed to investigate and locate the girl, Naik added.
The mother immediately began searching for her daughter inside and around the metro station but could not find her. She then made a PCR call for police assistance. All CCTV cameras in and around Nawada Metro Station were checked.
Locating the Missing Child
Through CCTV footage analysis, the investigation team discovered that the girl had entered the metro station via the lift and exited through Gate 2 using the stairs. The team then started searching the surrounding area of the metro station.
The girl was eventually found at a clothing shop nearby, said the DCP. This swift action by the police ensured that the child was safely returned to her mother.
This incident highlights the importance of vigilance and quick response by law enforcement in ensuring public safety. The timely intervention by Delhi Police brought relief to a worried mother on an important festive day.
