Singer Shan Johnson found dead in Chennai apartment

Chennai, Feb 6: Singer and music composer Shan Johnson was found dead in her flat in Chennai on Friday, police officials said.

Johnson, 29 had come to her flat after finishing a recording session and was to leave for Kochi to prepare for her second marriage.

Officials said that after returning from work on Thursday, the singer's mother tried calling her. After Johnson didn't respond to her calls the mother called one of her friends. The friend then arrived at Johnson's apartment.

When she didn't open the door, the police was alerted who broke open the door to find the singer lying on the bed.

Officials said that there was no sign of break-in and nor it looked like it was a case of suicide. Officials add that she was suffering from health problems and that could be the reason for the singer's death.

However officials are still waiting for the post mortem results.

Johnson was known for her work in Malayalam film industry.
