SIMI will look to strike after it lost 8 of its men says Intelligence Bureau

New Delhi, Nov 2: A high alert has been issued following the encounter that took place in Bhopal in which 8 operatives of the Students Islamic Movement of India were killed.
The Intelligence Bureau has warned that some operatives of the SIMI may trying to avenge this killing.
The alert is high particularly in those states where the SIMI is considered to have a strong base. The SIMI has strong bases in the states of Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.
IB officials say that the SIMI has attempting to revive itself. It seeks help from outfits that lean towards the al-Qaeda school of thought. The operatives would look to hit back following this encounter, the IB official also said.
Meanwhile police of various states with inputs from the IB are on the trail of operatives of this outfit. Several persons are likely to be rounded up and taken into custody. The operation is being carried out to ensure that attempts to revive are foiled.
