Sikkim MLA List 2024: Full List Of Winners From SKM, SDF And BJP

The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) on Sunday returned to power in the Himalayan state for the second consecutive term as it won 31 seats in the 32-member assembly and secured majority, officials said.

The main contest in Sikkim was between the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) and the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress are marginal players in state politics. Prem Singh Tamang has served as the Chief Minister of Sikkim since 2019.

Among the 146 nominees, prominent candidates include Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, his spouse Krishna Kumari Rai, former Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, former Indian footballer and SDF leader Bhaichung Bhutia, state BJP president DR Thapa, Speaker Arun Upreti, and senior minister Lunga Nima Lepcha. Both Tamang and Chamling are contesting from two assembly constituencies each. Approximately 80 percent of the 4.64 lakh voters participated in the elections on April 19.
