Sikkim CM Pawan Chamling thanks Narendra Modi

Gangtok, Feb 13:

Chief Minister

on Tuesday thanked the BJP's prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister

for apprising notes of appreciation on the northeastern state's development and strategy.

While addressing Maha Jagran Rally in Guwahati on Saturday, Modi had lauded Sikkim's achievement in tourism sector and described the state as a ‘gem' of the nation.

"The NE states were known as seven sisters. After Sikkim's inclusion in the list, I call them Ashta Laksmis (eight gems) ", Modi had said.

According to a news report, Chamling said that "such appraisal will support and encourage state government".
