Sibal flags eight 'odd' points on the killing of gangster Atiq Ahmed
Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Monday raised eight points regarding the murder of gangster brothers Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf while in police custody. The 'odd' points are quite pertinent though they may make the UP Police uncomfortable.
Taking to Twitter, Sibal asked why they were being taken for a medical check-up by police at 10 pm when there was no emergency and why it was "open to the media".

"Atiq and Ashraf (The art of elimination). Odd: 1) 10pm for medical check up? 2) No medical emergency 3) made victims walk 4) open to media? 5) assassins unknown to each other at the spot? 6) weapons above 7 lakhs 7) well-trained to shoot! 8) All 3 surrendered," tweeted Sibal.
Atiq, who has more than 100 cases registed against him, and his brother Ashraf were shot dead by three gunmen posing as journalists on Saturday night in full public view. The Ahmad brothers were speaking to media persons while being escorted by police personnel to a medical college in Prayagraj for a checkup.
The shooters made an attempt to escape but the cops overpowered and arrested them. The shooters have been identified as Lavlesh Tiwari (22) of Banda, Mohit alias Sunny (23) of Hamirpur and Arun Maurya (18) of Kasganj.
According to the FIR, the three assailants confessed to the crime and said they carried out the killings to become popular in the world of crime. The Yogi Adityanath government has formed a three-member judicial commission to investigate the killings.
The sensational killings of the Ahmed brothers has received sharp criticism from the opposition parties who charged BJP of running 'jungle raj' and 'mafia raj'.
