Siachen braveheart: 'Army was his life and she silently stood as the military wife'

Siachen braveheart Hanumanthappa Koppad's wife Mahadevi who wants to live a life of dignity and seeks a job.

This poem, The Military Wife, holds good for any wife whose husband is away at the border on national duty. We speak about the hardships of the Indian soldier. But do we once bother to think what those waiting at home for them go through. It is a tough life. There is anxiety about whether their loved one would return home. There are questions from their child asking about the father.

This poem sums it all up. As it says, the military is life and I stand among the silent ranks known as the military wife.
