Should Amit Shah Resign? Here's What Social Media Users Say On Parliament Security Breach

A day after the parliament security breach, Opposition leaders created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha demanding an explanation and resignation from the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. According to the videos from Lok Sabha, the Opposition leaders from Congress and Trinamool Congress came to the well near the speaker's chair and raised slogans against the government asking for strict action against the BJP MP Pratap Simha, who allegedly signed entrance passes for the assailants.

However, the Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla took complete responsibility for the parliament security breach, saying the government or minister has to do nothing with the security of the house. For disturbing and halting the proceedings of the house, the speaker suspended Manickam Tagore, Kanimozhi, PR Natrajan, VK Sreekandan, Benny Bahanan, K Subramanyam, S Venkatesan, Mohammad Jawed from the Lok Sabha. While TMC's Derek O'Brien was suspended from the Rajya Sabha.

Om Birla said, "The incident which took place yesterday, we are all worried. The security of the Parliament is with the Secretariat and we all know that everything including the security comes under the Parliament ambit, and especially the Lok Sabha. I discussed it with all of you yesterday. All the responsibility for security lies with the Lok Sabha secretariat. And the Lok Sabha secretariat will again discuss the issues."

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on the security breach incident said, "The incident is quite unfortunate. All the MPs, both from the ruling party and opposition, must ensure that passes should not be given to those who can create an anarchic situation in the House."

The demand for Amit Shah's resignation sparked a massive debate on the internet as some held the government responsible for the incident, while some came in defense. Read what netizens have to say on the Parliament's security breach:
