Scantily-dressed foreigners to get saris at Kashi Vishwanath temple
New Delhi, Nov 23: With the motive to promote Indian culture, Kashi Vishwanath Temple trust has taken a unique decision. Reportedly the temple trust has issued an order asking scantily-dressed foreign women to wear saris before entering in the temple premise.
The trust will give saris free of cost to women foreigners who will be in short dress. When asked about whether this will be a dress code, a temple official told that nobody will be forced upon to follow the rule.

Women foreigners will only be advised to drape saris while performing puja and return it later.
The TOI quotes an official saying as, "No foreign woman is going to be stopped from offering prayer inside sanctum sanctorum nor are we enforcing any dress code. It's a move to motivate foreign women, who reach temple in short western attires, to either avoid such dresses while planning to offer darshan at this temple or offer prayer as per the decorum"
