Shooting in Hyderabad; Pharma executive targetted
Hyderabad, Nov 19: A sudden shootout in the posh Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad shook the city as unknown assailants open fire at the chairman of a pharmaceutical company. Panic struck in the wee hours of the day today when the man shot three rounds of in the car of K Nityananda Reddy, Director and Vice Chairman of leading pharma company Aurobindo Pharma. While the police is still investigating the matter, it has pieced together a few information. Eye witnesses said that Mr Reddy, 56 had just finished his morning walk at the KBR park at 7 am and was heading toward his Audi. This is when the assailant appeared from somewhere and got into the rear seat of his car and began firing.

The attacker panicked when Reddy'd brother walked up to the other side of the car and ran away, escaping on foot. In a hurry, the man left behind a bag and an AK 47. Police is investigating the matter and there has been no arrests so far. KBR Park is popular for morning walkers and there were many people present there during the incident.

Aurobindo Pharma is considered India's fourth biggest drugmaker by market value and Mr Nityananda Reddy is its wholetime director and vice chairman and has been associated with the company as a promoter. He is responsible for supervising the overall affairs of the company.
