Shocking: Lead actor of TV soap 'Udaan' held over sexual harassment case

Mumbai, July 16: You may have loved this famous television actor Kamalnarayan Rajvanshi in 'Udaan', a serial based on the bonded labour in villages. But after hearing this shocking news, you will definitely hate him.

Reportedly Mumbai police has arrested Rajvanshi, originally named as Sai Ballal for molesting his co-actor. Shockingly, Ballal who got big clout in the industry, had been harassing the actress since April this year.

The police has registered a case under various section of the IPC against the accused. As per a Mumbai Mirror report, Section 354-A (sexual harassment), 354-B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe her) of the IPC and section 67-A of the IT Act have been imposed against Ballal for the serious offence.

Narrating the tale of agony, victim said that Ballal used to send porn, video messages to her. In past he had also molested her several times. Peeved with the misdemeanour of the accused , victim complaint to the seniors of the production house.

But actress' complaint went against her only and ultimately she was removed from the TV soap.
Seeing no ray of hope to justice, the victim then approached to Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA). The association probed the matter and found that it was a criminal offence.

When asked about the whole matter, a police officer from the Borivali police station said, "The probe recommended that the victim make a complaint to the police, following which she lodged a complaint in the Borivali police station on Wednesday. Acting on her allegations, the police registered an FIR under various sections of the IPC and the Information Technology Act. Ballal was arrested in the evening and will be produced in the court on Thursday".
