Maharashtra Government Plans 'ShivSrushti' Project at Ghodbunder to Showcase Legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

The Maharashtra government plans ShivSrushti, a major tourism and cultural project at Ghodbunder Fort, to present Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's life, governance, and Swarajya in an engaging, youth-friendly format. Funded by MTDC and overseen by Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation, the project aims to boost heritage tourism and connect young visitors with Maharashtra’s history.

The Maharashtra government is developing a major tourism and cultural project, "ShivSrushti," in the Ghodbunder area with the aim of presenting the history, vision, and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to the public, especially the younger generation, in a simple and engaging manner.

Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai shared details of the project after a review meeting held at the state secretariat. He said the initiative would help develop the area surrounding Ghodbunder Fort and boost tourism in the region. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik was also present during the meeting, where officials reviewed the project's planning and progress.

According to officials, ShivSrushti will depict the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, his military campaigns, governance model, ideals, and the story of Swarajya through immersive and easy-to-understand presentations. The project aims to help visitors, particularly youth, connect with Maharashtra's rich history and cultural heritage in an interactive manner.

Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation to Fund Project

The Maharashtra government has decided that the entire cost of the project will be borne by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). All necessary approvals for the project will be provided by the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation, which will also take charge of its maintenance and operations after completion.

Ghodbunder Fort Area Expected to Emerge as Major Tourist Hub

The government believes the ShivSrushti project will transform Ghodbunder Fort and its surrounding region into a major tourism destination. Visitors will get an opportunity to better understand and experience the history and contributions of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj through modern presentation techniques and cultural exhibits.

Initiative Aims to Connect Youth with History and Culture

Officials said the project is not only aimed at boosting tourism but also at creating awareness among young people about India's history, culture, and heritage. Through ShivSrushti, the government hopes to preserve and promote the ideals and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for future generations.
