Shivraj Singh Chouhan: BJP Will Implement NRC In Jharkhand To Curb Infiltration If Voted To Power

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has criticized the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led government for allegedly supporting infiltration, vowing that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is elected, it will implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) to address the issue, as reported by PTI.

Addressing media at Ranchi's Birsa Munda Airport, Chouhan claimed that essential aspects of Jharkhand's culture and community-symbolized by "maati" (land), "beti" (daughter), and "roti" (bread)-are at risk due to unchecked infiltration. He asserted that the BJP's mission is not just about gaining power but about safeguarding Jharkhand's social fabric.

Chouhan, who also serves as the election in-charge for Jharkhand, alleged that the Hemant Soren-led government has been facilitating the presence of foreign nationals by helping them obtain Aadhaar and voter identity cards. "Infiltrators are establishing roots here, marrying local daughters, purchasing land, and strengthening their influence in local governance. This has dangerous implications for Jharkhand's future," he stated, according to PTI reports.

The BJP leader emphasized that an NRC-based citizens' registry would be drafted to identify and remove illegal infiltrators if the party comes to power. According to him, the BJP's commitment is to "chase infiltrators out of the state" to restore local security.

In addition to promising to implement the NRC, Chouhan highlighted key points from the BJP's manifesto. The party has pledged to provide Rs 2,100 per month in financial assistance to women, create five lakh jobs for youths, offer LPG cylinders at Rs 500 for every household, and ensure housing for all.

Chouhan, also the Union Agriculture Minister, shared details of his upcoming meeting with farmers' organizations in Delhi, underscoring the BJP's ongoing engagement with agricultural communities. He assured that the government frequently consults farmers to address their concerns and devise welfare measures that meet their needs, as per media reports.

The BJP's Jharkhand election campaign is gaining momentum, with the second part of the party's manifesto expected to be unveiled soon.
