Shiv Sena to contest Bihar polls?: Reports

Patna, Sept 14: When the major political parties are set for the upcoming battle for power in Bihar, Shiv Sena on Sunday, Sept 13 announced to contest Bihar assembly elections.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said , "we will not form any alliance with the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and we will show our power in Bihar."

Shiv Sena union is working in Bihar since years now.

Adding to that, Raut said, "there is no point to contest with the BJP as there are many other big parties in NDA and we are very sure that public of Bihar will give one opportunity to serve us."

However, till now Shiv Sena has not confirmed on how many seats it will contest.

Now, Shiv Sena is preparing to check its fate from Mahrashtra politcs to politically-significant Bihar.

On Monday, Sept 14, NDA finalised its seat sharing for Bihar polls with BJP getting to contest 160 out of 243 assembly constituencies while allies LJP and Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM have been alloted 40 and 20 seats respectively.

Bihar assembly polls will take place in five phases on Oct 12, Oct 16, Oct 28, Nov 1 and Nov 5. The counting of votes will take place on Nov 8, Sunday.
