Shiv Sena corners PM Modi over Kashmir unrest, Sukma Maoists attack

Mere statements condemning the incidents does not resolve the issue, said Shiv Sena in its editorial Saamna.

New Delhi, April 27: Shiv Sena on Thursday came down heavily on the Centre over the Sukma Maoists attack and recent Kashmir unrest incidents. It had slammed the Centre that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government for not being able to chalk out strong anti-terror policy.

In its editorial Saamna, the Sena cornered PM Modi over his comments on his Twitter handle after Sukma Maoists attack in which 25 Central Reserve Police Officers were killed.

PM Modi tweeted that "Attack on @crpfindia personnel in Chhattisgarh is cowardly & deplorable. We are monitoring the situation closely."

The Sena asserted that by making mere comments to avenge the death of CRPF personnel would not solve the issue.

The Saamna editorial cited that 100 CRPF jawans have sacrificed their lives in past one month. It added that the Centre should come out with a policy that can save the CRPF jawans.

Now slamming the Centre again on Kashmir unrest, the Sena demanded President's rule in Jammu and Kashmir and added that People Democratic Party-Bharatiya Janata Party has failed to keep law and order stable in the state.

The Sena questioned the BJP until when will it run the government by taking lives of soldiers of the nation.

The editorial stated that even now the women are pelting stones at the security forces and there is immediate need of President's rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
