Shikha Joshi's suicide case: Cosmetic surgeon says model-turned-actress wanted cash from him
Mumbai, May 22: The Mumbai police on Thursday recorded the statement of Dr Vijay Sharma, the cosmetic surgeon allegedly named in the dying statement of model-actress Shikha Joshi who allegedly committed suicide last week.
Versova police here recorded the doctor's statement for nearly three hours, a police officer said.

The doctor disclosed this to the police while his statement was being recorded.
"He told us that Shikha and her brother Vishesh had been demanding that he, and not them, foot the bills of a breast enhancement surgery performed on her in 2011. When he refused, they pelted stones at his house and accused him in a molestation case," a police source was quoted as saying in the report.
Joshi had earlier alleged that Sharma molested her when she visited his clinic in suburban Khar. Senior inspector of Versova police station Ravindra Pawar refused to reveal what Sharma told the police.
However, another officer said on the condition of anonymity said that police were probing all the angles, including the possibility of foul play.
Apart from Dr Sharma, police have recorded the statements of seven witnesses including Shikha's room-mate Madhu who recorded Shikha's statement on her cellphone while the actress lay bleeding after slashing her own neck.
According to the official, the actress was taken to the hospital more than an hour after she slit her throat in bathroom of the flat where she lived. "This delay, police suspect, was fatal," he said.
Meanwhile, Shrawani Joshi, daughter of model-turned-actor Shikha Joshi, 40, who was found dead in Mumbai on May 16, claimed her mother could never commit suicide as she was not a coward.
"I will fight till justice is served to her," said the Shrawani (19).
She held plastic surgeon Vijay Sharma responsible for her mother's death and also said that he was the reason behind the disruptions in her academic life.
Shikha Joshi (40), who had appeared in the 2013 film BA Pass, allegedly committed suicide by slitting her throat at a MHADA colony flat in suburban Versova on Saturday evening.
